The Advanced RF and Optical Technologies Group is seeking a postdoc who will focus on developing chip-scale stable lasers using micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and nanophotonic technologies. This work is part of a larger JPL awarded project aimed at designing and fabricating an advanced metrology laser with the goal of achieving repeatable performance and significantly reducing costs. The selected postdoc will develop and engage in the following technology areas: - Chip-scale stable lasers using MEMS and nanophotonic technologies including but not limited to: - silicon nitride on-chip etalons and waveguides - lithium niobate modulators and waveguides - heterogeneous integration packaging of photonic microdevices - on-chip precision atomic and molecular spectroscopy - physics and chemistry with chip-scale atomic and molecular vapor cells and photonic integration packaging interfaces.
