In this role one plans designs develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools. **Position Responsibilities** - Build up embedded Linux applications to control complex networked environments. · Develop web-based UI to support soldier created networks on the battlefield. · Work with program and engineering leadership to help understand requirements and influence design analysis and testing to ensure robust application reliability. · Work with cross-IPT disciplines such as Systems Electrical Hardware and Test Engineering to align hardware and software goals. · Operate in a continuous learning environment and provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers. **Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)** - Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience) · Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering or any other relevant field is required. · Minimum 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in Windows and Linux software development. · Experience with Linux application development. · Expertise in the following: C++ and Python. · Strong experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes). · Experience with developing web applications. · Understands lower level networking concepts including the OSI model socket programming and network debugging. **Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies** - Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies · Advanced degree in relevant field is preferred. · Understanding of DHCP IPv4 IPv6 Linux bridges network stack internals. · Experience with Python-based web frameworks like Flask and FastAPI. · Experience with communicating to and controlling UAS drones or robotics is preferred. **Physical Demands** - Ability to work in an office environment (Constant) - Required to stand and sit for long periods; talk hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent) The salary range for this role is: $124 370 - $176 400 AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the location the role and associated responsibilities a candidate’s work experience education training and key skills. **ITAR Requirement:** _T_ _his position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
