**Associate Test Engineer - Dolby Vision**
This role is an entry-level technical position requiring academic or practical knowledge of video coding principles and foundational color science concepts. This involves testing production and post-production software tools professional video encoder decoders and similar products using test procedures provided in our system development kits deliverables with emphasis on video performance. Key responsibilities include assisting with evaluations of licensed partner products analyzing test results setting up test environments and collaborating with application engineers on product integration. The ideal candidate should have academic or practical exposure to professional industry post-production software tools a theoretical understanding of production workflows and strong communication skills. Knowledge of standard formats scripting languages and Dolby technologies is required. This position offers growth opportunities while developing professional judgment and problem-solving abilities in a supportive environment with appropriate supervision.
**Responsibilities:**
• Conduct evaluation testing on licensed Dolby Vision professional partner products
• Analyze test results to determine pass fail status and compile data for reporting
• Set up test environments by coordinating with partners on equipment and configuration requirements
• Collaborate with application engineers and customers to understand partner product integration details including customized workflows and waived requirements
• Contribute to test kit development by providing feedback on test instructions signals and methodologies
• Test consumer Dolby Vision TV’s and PC monitor implementations and systems during periods when no professional products are in the test queue
**Requirements:**
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
• Must possess working knowledge of video coding principles (such as compression bitrates and codecs) and fundamental understanding of color science concepts including color spaces gamut mapping and HDR SDR workflows
• Hands-on experience with production post-production software tools (DaVinci Resolve Avid Pro Tools Steinberg Nuendo Filmlight Baselight Colorfront Transkoder Rohde & Schwarz Clipster MTI Film Cortex Adobe Premiere Pro)
• Knowledge of production post-production workflows terminologies and best practices
• Knowledge of standard archival mezzanine formats (J2K MXF IMF MOV or ADM)
• Knowledge in SDI and HDMI interfaces
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and advanced concepts including TCP IP protocols routing switching and network security principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus strong work and business ethics
• Fundamental knowledge of Dolby Vision
• Familiarity of Dolby Audio and Dolby Atmos
• Experience using scripting languages such as Python

The San Francisco Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $79 900-$103 900. which can vary if outside this location plus bonus benefits and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location. Within this range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills competencies experience market demands internal parity and relevant education or training. #### **Essential Job Functions:**
- Lead the development and execution of a complete test initiative for innovative Dolby Imaging Video algorithms and software.
- Define develop and orchestrate testing of new technical architectures to support the strategic imaging technology innovation pipeline across all ecosystems and in all device categories.
- Test proof-of-concepts in emerging imaging technologies in order to productize and deliver high-performance high-quality software libraries.
- Thrive in fast-paced working environment; Agile teamwork experience is a plus.
- Lead a small team of test engineers.
- Collaborate with development product owners and research teams to execute the testing including hardware software and automation environments.
- Follow best practices for source control development continuous integration automated testing and release management.
- Produce and maintain useful and usable documentation of work.
- Partner with technical writers to provide and review technical data relating to documentation for the SDK going into technical publication.
#### **Requirements:**
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science and or Electrical Engineering.
- Extensive experience with Picture Quality (PQ) and or Image Signal Processing (ISP)
- 8+ years of experience in professional imaging and or system and application engineering.
- Extensive experience deploying and maintaining test automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in coding with Python.
- \`High level of experience in test planning design and reporting.
- Key understanding of all aspects of software testing process bug tracking and reporting.
- Experience testing applications related to computer graphics computer vision image processing and or video processing is required.
- Microsoft Windows and or Linux experience is required.
- Passion for multimedia technologies
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
#### **Desired:**

- Experience with CUDA OpenCV and OpenMP.
- Experience testing C C++.
- Experience with Git and Jira.
- Knowledge of video technologies cinema and television production and post-production workflows.

**Overview:**
The Senior Core Technology Manager will be a key member of our team responsible for managing audio and imaging core technologies used in a wide variety of products to deliver best-in-class experiences with Dolby content. This role involves overseeing one or more Core Audio Technology components ensuring they meet both current and future needs.
**Responsibilities:**
- **Technical Vision and Strategy**: Develop and maintain a forward-looking technical vision for Core Audio technologies. Engage with technology leads product managers and the audio research team to understand and address both short-term and long-term needs.
- **Roadmap and Execution**: Define component requirements and long-term roadmaps. Create and execute tactical plans track progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- **Technical Excellence**: Promote a culture of technical excellence and drive engineering teams using agile methodologies. Be adaptable to changes in the market or internal environment.
- **Thought Leadership**: Provide thought leadership for Dolby's Core Audio technologies. Evangelize core audio technologies across all product and business teams. Influence the products to align audio experiences by using technologies developed by the team.
**Requirements:**
- BS in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. An MBA or other business qualification is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience with media technology specifically in developing or managing audio technologies such as codecs or pre- post-processors. Experience with Dolby technology and AI ML-based audio processing is preferred.
- Demonstrates the ability to thrive in uncertain environments by introducing clarity and structure.
- Strong technical leadership system architecture understanding and innovative problem-solving skills. Effective collaboration in a globally distributed organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Up to date on relevant market developments.
