### **About the Role:**
We’re very excited to open our first Director of GTM Engineering role at Chief. We are looking for a key technical powerhouse to help us engineer a modern cutting edge GTM motion across the entire customer journey. Reporting directly to the VP of GTM Strategy & Operations you will be the lead practitioner responsible for turning high-level growth strategy into a high-performance automated reality.
You will work in lockstep with the VP and executive leadership to understand the GTM vision and then lead the execution work and technical craftsmanship required to bring it to life. This is a high visibility and high impact role at the center of transforming Chief’s growth engine.
We are looking for a connector –somone who is equally comfortable discussing business unit economics on one side and technical systems concepts on the other. You will own three mission-critical areas:
1. Core GTM SaaS infrastructure: architecting our SaaS stack for scale and speed
2. Data foundations and enrichment programs: building the “source of truth” and automated intelligence layers
3. Modern AI & automation capabilities: deploying agentic workflows the remove the manual tax from our teams
The ideal person for this role is obsessed with systems and data. You don't just manage tools you build them. You thrive in connecting disparate systems–CRM enrichment tools marketing automation and data warehouses into a unified “always on” growth machine. You’re a collaborative ladder who earns trust with Sales Marketing and Member Experience teams by shipping systems that make them faster smarter and more successful.
As the technical expert in this area we expect you to be a hand-on leader. You will roll up your sleeves to demonstrating what’s possible–personally building automations writing scripts and shipping systems that drive pipeline and accelerate conversions

### **What You'll Do:**
**Build and Lead the GTM Engineering Function**
- Develop the initial roadmap to assess current infrastructure procure new tools and capabilities and help define the staffing needs for the program
- Act as a player-coach: you actively build but can also teach others in the organization
- Partner with the C and VP level teams to set the GTM engineering roadmap
**Architect the Revenue Tech Stack**
- Own the design integration and ongoing optimization of Chief's GTM tool stack — including CRM (Salesforce) marketing automation (Braze) enrichment platforms (Clay ZoomInfo) sequencing tools (Lemlist Salesloft) and data infrastructure
- Build and maintain API integrations data pipelines and automated workflows that eliminate manual work and scale high-ROI GTM activities
- Ensure data quality deduplication and CRM hygiene as the foundation on which every downstream system depends
**Design and Deploy Revenue-Generating Systems**
- Build intelligent lead scoring routing and enrichment flows that get the right prospect to the right rep in minutes not hours
- Architect automated outbound and inbound systems — from ICP-based list building and signal monitoring to personalized sequencing and follow-up
- Create data activation plays: convert intent signals product behavior and engagement data into automated revenue-generating workflows
- Develop AI-powered tooling for sales and marketing teams — including meeting prep transcript summarization CRM auto-update and pipeline intelligence
**Drive Experimentation and Scale What Works**
- Establish a GTM engineering culture of rapid experiments and scaling successful tactics across the entire revenue motion
- Build systems to measure the business impact of automation investments: conversion rates pipeline velocity response times and revenue attribution
- Create a documentation culture so institutional knowledge compounds over time
### **What You Bring:**
- **Experience**
- 5+ years in GTM RevOps Growth Engineering or a closely adjacent technical function with experience both as an IC builder and a people leader
- Proven track record in a high-impact Rev Ops Growth Ops teams at a growth-stage or scaling technology company
- Experience architecting and operating a modern B2B GTM tech stack end-to-end
- **Technical Proficiency**
- Deep hands-on fluency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred)
- Strong command of GTM data enrichment and orchestration tools: Clay Apollo Clearbit ZoomInfo or equivalents
- Experience with integration and automation platforms: Zapier n8n Make Workato or custom API development
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms (Braze Marketo Pardot HubSpot Marketing Hub) and or sequencing tools (Outreach Salesloft)
- Familiarity with data infrastructure (Segment Snowflake dbt BigQuery) and the ability to work closely with data engineering teams
- Experience using modern LLMs or scrapers in GTM workflows

- Proven ability to translate business problems into technical architecture and technical output into business impact
- Strong cross-functional instincts — you earn trust with Sales Marketing and CX leaders by making them faster and smarter not by owning more territory

### **About the Role:**
Chief is looking for a **Lead Salesforce Engineer** to architect the next generation of our GTM and Retention engine. We are moving beyond "system of record" to a **system of intelligence** and we need a leader to own the technical direction of Salesforce as a centralized AI-enhanced hub.
In this role you won't just manage a developer; you will be a **strategic architect** who thrives in ambiguity strong technical skills desire to understand business processes and proactively identify how to leverage AI—both native Einstein Agentforce and external stacks—to drive superior customer outcomes. You know Salesforce like the back of your hand and you enjoy thinking about the "big-picture" and business interaction and can translate complex data into seamless customer experiences. This role requires significant cross-functional collaboration and the ability to be flexible while managing multiple priorities. You will bridge the gap between technical possibility and business strategy ensuring our stack is a competitive advantage for our Sales and Retention teams.
### **What you’ll do:**
- **Strategic Feature Decomposition:** Collaborate closely with the stakeholders to translate "big picture" designs into actionable iterative technical stories that move the needle toward our long-term ideal state.
- **Modern DevOps Ownership:** Implement and manage a sophisticated development lifecycle—from feature inception and refined user stories to production deployment—ensuring a seamless automated and documented process.
- **Full-Stack Salesforce Engineering:** Extend and enhance Sales Cloud Service Cloud and Revenue Cloud using a mastery of APEX LWC and Visualforce to build high-performance custom functionality.
- **Integration & Orchestration:** Design and develop robust APIs and orchestration layers using REST SOAP and JSON to ensure Salesforce remains an open extensible hub for external services and AI tools.
- **Quality & Automated Testing:** Take ownership of system health by designing and maintaining automated unit integration and functional testing frameworks to ensure the stability of our most critical business flows.
- **Technical Governance:** Lead the evolution of our codebase through thoughtful code reviews and proactive documentation ensuring our stack remains modern readable and debt-free.
- **Agile Leadership:** Actively lead and participate in agile ceremonies including retrospectives and story refinement to foster a culture of continuous improvement and transparent communication.
- **Unlock Data Insights:** Develop robust data extraction and integration strategies to pull high-value insights out of Salesforce leveraging that data to proactively enhance the end-to-end customer experience.
- **Partner with the Business:** Act as a strategic consultant to Sales Marketing and Customer Success leadership translating high-level business goals into technical roadmaps that drive measurable revenue and retention outcomes. Serve as the primary technical partner to the RevOps Lead translating their governance frameworks and ARR recognition requirements into scalable code automated workflows and robust data models."

- **Modern Development Lifecycle:** Proven experience managing a full-feature lifecycle using modern CI CD tools Git-based workflows and automated deployment strategies.
- **Integration Architecture:** Deep expertise in bringing data into and out of Salesforce via web service technologies (REST SOAP JSON) with a focus on building scalable service-oriented architectures.
- **Culture of Testing:** A strong background in building automated testing suites within the Salesforce ecosystem to prevent regressions and ensure high-quality releases.
- **Iterative Delivery:** A track record of successfully breaking down complex high-level architectural designs into manageable deliverable milestones. Proficiency with other development stacks (Node Django Rails etc.
- **Data-Minded Architecture:** Deep expertise in data modeling and ELT processes with a specific focus on making CRM data actionable for cross-functional business units.
- **Strategic Problem Solving:** A track record of moving beyond "ticket-taking" to understand the "why" behind business requests offering architectural solutions that balance immediate needs with long-term scalability.
- **Business-Centric Communication:** Exceptional ability to enjoy and excel at business interaction with the skill to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive consensus.
- **Adaptability & Growth Mindset:** Demonstrated comfort working in fast-paced environments where you are expected to "think big " challenge the status quo and adapt to changing business landscapes.
